Japan Collection
Jan’s exploration of the different cultures, architectural shapes, textures of materials and techniques are all central to her designs and creations. She essentially absorbs her surroundings and then develops and creates beautiful designs that evoke memories through their association, form, shape, colour and texture.
This particular collection is directly inspired by her travels in Japan where the shapes and forms are inspired by pattern and print found in the beautiful kimono. The pieces consist of a variety of media from Sterling Silver, 18ct Yellow Gold, Plastics and vintage kimono fabric and Japanese coffee spoons. Jan loves to incorporate both the ideas of precious and non precious materials to create a variety of outcomes.
